Description
This course helps participants understand the Florida laws, statutes, rules, and regulations governing firearms and weapons, focusing on those that concern bail bondsman, limited surety agents, and the bail bond industry. We will also learn any federal laws or regulations pertaining to firearms and weapons which bondsman must follow. We will study Florida’s requirements relating to owning, transporting and using guns and obtaining a Concealed Weapon or Firearm License, as governed by Florida Statutes Chapter 790. You will gain a comprehensive knowledge of what is permitted to protect yourself and allowed in apprehending a principal if you are armed, including the Justifiable Use of Force statutes found in Florida Statutes Chapter 776. We will also review the rules for safely using and handling firearms. Finally, we will discuss the laws and recent trends in controlling guns in our society through legislation and Executive Orders.
